Florida - Our Own Backyard (FULL FILM)
Without a doubt, this is one of the coolest projects I have worked on so far. This story showcases not only the amazing natural resources we have in the state of Florida but also how fishing has been passed down through my family; starting with my grandfather, then to my dad, then to me, and soon to my two young boys Eli and Wyatt.
I can't thank Turtlebox Audio and Skinny Water Culture enough for their support of this film.
I am happy to present FLORIDA - OUR OWN BACKYARD.
One of the greatest things about this project was hearing my dad talk about us fishing as kids and then contrasting it with his audio at the end about us taking fishing way beyond what he ever thought was possible.
The days out in the swamp filming this project were loads of fun but definitely a serious hustle at the same time.
It took plenty of time and patience to get those bass eats and bowfin eats on film. In a wild place like this you are completely at the mercy of what nature wants to do. Sometimes it cooperates and sometimes it doesn't.
Having my good friend Mac Elliot work on this project was a true joy as well. Nothing makes a project go easier than having a second shooter you can trust to get the shots. Watching her dive in and get epic photos of bowfin and bass under the water was honestly super entertaining lol. Snakes...no problem...Gaters...no problem...leeches...no problem. lol.
Shooting underwater photography in a place this remote can be a challenging task and always makes you take time to slow down and make sure you have the shot that you want. In nature...there are often no redos.
In the images below you can see Mac setting up here Aquatech housing to capture some absolute gold!
At the end of the day I am super stoked about this film and I really hope you all enjoy it.
Thanks so much for the love and support!
